2013 Senior Rep, Logan, shares her experiences about being BOLD and CONFIDENT. Here is her story:
As a senior in high school who loves being involved in as much as possible, this year has definitely been the most chaotic. Between balancing clubs, work, Senior Rep duties and spending time with friends and family, I have definitely been in my fair share of situations that have made me step outside of my comfort zone. As I sit here and reflect on everything that has happened this year, I’ve realized how important it is to push yourself and expand your boundaries in order to grow as a person. Throughout my year, I have purposely put myself into situations that I know will make me feel uncomfortable. Over the summer I spent a week in Belize on a missions trip talking to people about Jesus and spreading the Gospel to those who may have never heard about it before. Talking to people in a foreign country really opened my eyes to the world and how vastly different each country is from one another. I had to push myself out of my comfort zone, be bold and have confidence in my actions. That experience taught me a lot about who I am and how much easier things are when you have confidence in yourself.
Since then, I have tried to apply those life lessons I learned there into my everyday life- especially as a Senior Rep for Craig Hewitt Photography. When modeling for a photo shoot for Craig, I’ve definitely had to step outside of my comfort zone. Being a typical teenage girl, I have my days where I have really low self-confidence. But, through being a Senior Rep, I have learned that being bold and confident in my decisions whether it’s when modeling, speaking to a group of people or just getting dressed for school gives me the confidence to think more positively about myself and can affect other people’s attitudes and confidence levels as well. So, to wrap up my thoughts, I would just like to leave you with this: Being bold and confident in your decisions and your way of life can affect others, so believe in yourself and others will too.
Logan! This is beautiful! You are such an inspiration to your peers and others! Keep on keepin on!
